Paul Pacanowski
     Musician, Composer

Paul is a Polish born, Toronto based freelance musician.  With interests in both classical and jazz music (and anything in between) Paul has appeared in clubs and festivals in both Europe and North America.  His career has included involvement with the Polish Chamber Orchestra, Nafshenu Orchestra, North York and Brampton Symphonies, Flying Bulgar Klezmer Band, From Both Ends of the Earth, as well as his own RSP Jazz Quartet, Mellifluence, and The Other Trio.

Paul is both a leader and composer and exudes a serious presence as an established, mature player.  You will primarily see Paul on tenor, soprano, flute, clarinet, but any instrument that will help express the musical ideas of the moment may be called into play.  Paul received his formal education from the Chopin Academy of Music in Warsaw, Poland, New Music courses in Darmstadt, Germany and has studied composition with J.Wyzuty and Samuel Dolin.

With the experience of playing such a variety of music, Paul brings to his playing and composing a unique approach which is new, fresh and exhilarating.  Paul has written a number of specific pieces for different groups and has performed in many local and international festivals:
